Villa Malee is designed in architecturally minimalist style, with glass walls facing the breathtaking views across Big Buddha bay of emerald seas, distant islands, and spectacular sunsets. Entered up a flight of stairs from the car port, the vast, open-plan living room on the first floor has sliding glass walls on the front and back, which allow the sea breeze to flow through the house, and frame the ever-changing seascape beyond. The garden at the rear of the villa provides a rocky backdrop to the living room. The living room is defined by an architectural glass block partition wall, separating the lobby from the study area, which is furnished with a desk, daybed, and library. The lounge area features comfortable and elegant sofas in the centre of the room, arranged around a coffee table and 43” plasma screen home theatre system. The dining area seats 8 facing the views. The state-of-the art fitted kitchen is fully equipped, and separated by a breakfast bar with stools. A bathroom is accessible both through the kitchen, and from the pool deck. The living room is floored in white terrazzo, with halogen lighting, and two powerful air conditioning units concealed in the ceiling, to maintain cool even on the hottest days.

The front face of the living room opens onto the spacious sand-wash pool deck, with a row of palms in concrete pots along the far side. An outdoor teak dining table seats 6, with an additional 4 cushioned sun-loungers, and parasols. The aquamarine-tiled infinity-edge swimming pool blends into the sea beyond, with a large Jacuzzi extension in the far corner.

An open staircase leads up from the living room to the second floor, with the adjacent glass wall extending across the two floors. A gallery landing interconnects the three bedrooms, and an external stairway leading to the spectacular 90sqm rooftop terrace. The terrace includes a lounge area, dining area, bar, and BBQ, with incredible views across Big Buddha bay to the northwest, and Chaweng bay to the southeast.

All of the bedrooms on the second floor are air conditioned, with TV/DVD, and sliding glass walls that open onto a balcony and integrating the sea views. The master bedroom has a large en-suite bathroom with a Jacuzzi tub, and separate rain shower. The additional two bedrooms; a double and a twin, share a bathroom with rain shower. A fourth double bedroom with en-suite shower room is located below the living room, adjacent to the laundry room with washing machine and tumble dryer.

All of the windows and sliding doors in the villa are double glazed, with white louver blinds, allowing effective climate control.

The villa is located within walking distance of Big Buddha beach and temple, with a variety of restaurants and shops. Five minutes drive from Koh Samui airport, Bang Rak, and Choeng Mon beach, the villa is less than 10 minutes drive from Chaweng and Bophut Fisherman’s village, and around 20 minutes from Santiburi Golf and Country club.
