Property Details
This is a guest house that specialises in supplying 2 week, full board holidays, where you experience the 'Real Africa'; not hotel Africa, not luxury safari Africa, nor yet another beach that could be any where on the planet! We are flexible about lengths of stay & terms.
Our rooms vary from the comfortably basic with own washing facilities to apartment with en suite bathroom, own kitchen & living room. You get furniture, bed sheets, curtains, mosquito nets,& wardrobe in all the rooms. You need your own towels & toiletries, but otherwise we supply most things. The place is very close to a wonderful safe beach & close to nearly anything you might want. From tourist sites to supermarkets, local cultural centres to organic veg allotments, city centre to countryside, all is in walking distance.
We give you the opportunity to tailor-make your experience of this wonderful country, meet the real people in their homes, at their work places/schools/colleges. You'll meet some very honest and trustworthy people, who will naturally want to be your friend & show you their country. You'll be invited to ceremonies & celebrations, enjoying local culture & traditions in their natural settings.
Famous for being perhaps the most open and friendly people on the planet, Gambians love to have visitors who respect their ways & will go out of their way to make you feel happy & secure in their company. We will help you understand their ways & offer you various experiences where you choose your own level of involvement. You'll be welcome as an onlooker, but if you want to play a drum, join the dance or whatever, you'll be doubly welcome.
We have a local lady cooking for us, she's become an expert organic vegetarian chef, mostly making local dishes accessible to western palettes. She is very adaptable to your requirements & only wants to please.
Local people like to earn a little money doing your laundry, & cleaning your room, so relax & forget little household chores while with us.
We run on strict eco-tourism principles & help local people with education, work and clothing. Your booking with us is contributing in a very real and direct way to this very poor country.

N/A This is a guest house primarily, but we would let the whole property if asked, subject to availability.
Arrival Times
Any time you like. Most charter flights from UK arrive in the afternoon. Several a day from Dakar, Senegal.
Additional Rate and Deposit Information
Quoted rates are for half board & service. As a guest house we welcome visitors for any length of stay & can negotiate terms.
