2 big apartments in 17th century stone mountain house, in pastoral village at 800m. altitude near the Pyrenees National Park. One apartment has stunning views over the mountain ranges. Magnificent mountains for hiking and biking, and winter skiing.

Property Details

An original shepherd's stone mountain house in a village that was listed as being inhabited from the 11th century. The house has been restored over the years and divided into two individual, spacious, fully-equipped and centrally heated apartments. Comfortably furnished, the house is ideal for a peaceful and relaxing mountain break.

Each apartment sleeps six people and apartment 1 "Le Milan Royale" has both a terrace and a covered balcony with superb views over the mountains and pastoral land. Apartment 2 "Le Four a Pain" is spread over 3 floors (including mezzanines) and has a real fireplace.

The area is accessible from the airport of Pau Pyrenees, one hour away with flights from Paris, Lyon, London and Amsterdam.

There is endless mountain scenery and activities. The Ossau vallay, in which the village is situated, has been called the most beautiful valley in the Pyrenees. The valley combines traditional pastoral, cheese-making activities (including the Transhumance in July every year) with excellent walking, the passage of the Tour de France, superb and challenging cycling and skiing in two family resorts.
The village of Aas is a traditional mountain village set on the side of the Green Mountain - many of the inhabitants are shepherds and there is also a working honey farm on the side of the Green Mountain.
It is also 35 km from the border with Spain where a totally different more desert-like terrain waits to be explored.
The area of Ossau is well-known for its wine production - including Jurancon and Madiran, and there are vineyards to be visited. In Jurancon the area also boasts Chez Ruffet - a superb Michelin two-star restaurant, as well as many other superb regional restaurants.

Rental Policy

Rental period Sunday 1600 - Sunday 1200, can be changed on request.

Reservation payment 30%, remainder payable two weeks before rental period.

Refundable cleaning deposit of 50 euros payable on arrival.
