This stone-built bungalow once housed horses which worked a village mill and has now been fully rebuilt and refurbished, exposing 200 year old walls and oak beams.
The Old Mill House is a stone-built villa bungalow in Limassol, Cyprus that once housed horses which worked a mill. Its cost is equivalent to many apartments for rent in Cyprus yet the experience is vastly superior - that of pure tranquility. It has been fully rebuilt and refurbished in such a way that it exposes stone walls and oak beams as its key features. It is an idyllic stone villa with all the mod-cons that one would expect in any western house. When staying at The Old Mill House villa bungalow, the nature around will thoroughly enchant you. Birdsong is heard all day (a birdwatcher's paradise), whilst traffic is a memory of your past. The Limassol and Cyprus mountainous views can easily compete with the best of Wales, with the added benefit of a stunning climate (beaches a mere 20 minutes drive); some say there are over 330 days of sunshine per year here. The village (Klonari), in which the villa sits, consists of no more than 20 stone cottages and has a wonderful local orange grove.
Klonari is easily accessible with good roads that provide Limassol beaches 20 minutes away. The Limassol dual carriage way is 15 minutes drive and thus provides rapid access to the many attractions of historical importance in Cyprus.
The village itself allows for many wonderful walks and is only one minute from a British-run golf club (www.vikla-golf.com), which is frequented by many ex-pats. The golf club offers facilities has a swimming pool, bar, and serves sandwiches and snacks.
The area is ideal for bird watching/ornithologists, mountain walking and ramblers, those generally interested in nature, and golfers. Children can play in a very quiet area, adults can enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the village and location, and everyone could drive for a day out to the Limassol beaches or other Cypriot locations. The nearest main city is Limassol, which has bars, restaurants, beaches, a port, a castle, museums, compact shopping centre, and much besides. The nearest village, Kallaki, is five minutes away and contains a delightful church, café, and a small supermarket that sells all of your daily essentials.
The church across the road is thought to be 16th century and contains original frescos that are absolutely delightful. The lady opposite the villa has the enormous key that will allow you to view a very beautiful excerpt of history and religion.
The villa bungalow consists of:
Two bedrooms – one with double bed and cot, second with two singles, and a sofa-bed in the living room (sleeps 6 in total). The 200 year old stone walls are exposed as a feature in both bedrooms.

We have STUNNING reviews on our website from every customer this year ... eg: "Well, what a lovely cottage and as we had hoped found it a fantastic quiet retreat away from all the hub bub of Limassol. Maria (the village mayoress) was wonderful and on arrival she had left goodies in the fridge for us which we were most grateful for. We thought that the house was charming, well equipped and very comfortable and a lot of thought had obviously been put into ensuring that the guests have a good stay. It was lovely being in such an unspoilt area of Cyprus, just our cup of tea! The amazing views can only be seen to be believed. As we returned to the cottage each evening we would park the car en route so we could look at the incredible sunsets over the mountains. We did venture up to Vikla Golf Club where Robin (Robin Houry, manager of Vikla Golf Club) was most welcoming saying we could use the pool anytime on popping a small donation in a pot on the bar. The wild life was fascinating, on returning late one night there was a small hedgehog (with long ears!) waiting for us on the door step. We have taken numerous photos of cats, goats, swallows, hens, lizards and much more. We would definitely consider returning to this wonderful spot. Thanks Robin."
