In the peaceful hamlet of Vioreau, Ca m'ira is a 250 year old, air-conditioned cottage, 100 yards from a tranquil fishing lake and minutes from one of the finest inland swimming beaches in the area. It has recently been professionally renovated.

Property Details

Our two bedroomed cottage has been tastefully furnished and decorated to a high standard. It has hardwood, double-glazed windows and doors, sympathetically and individually made to be in keeping with the age of the cottage. It has also been well insulated and with new electric heating and the wood-burning stove it provides all year round comfort. For Autumn/ Winter bookings ready cut logs are available.

On the first floor, there is a light, spacious bedroom with views over garden to the forest. Complete with the original oak flooring and exposed beams, it has both a double and a single bed, with wardrobe and ample storage space.

The tastefully decorated, modern shower room has a thermostatically controlled shower, WC and hand basin. A child's booster step is also provided with baby bath and cot.

Looking out on to the garden, the cosy second bedroom is on the ground floor and has two single beds, built-in wardrobe, antique pine chest of drawers and bedside storage.

The large living area is tastefully decorated and comfortably furnished with inviting sofas, bookcases, (with a selection of books, DVDs and videos) and a built-in entertainment cupboard, offering satellite TV, VCR and DVD/CD players. There is additional storage in the antique pine chest of drawers and there is a selection of games (Monopoly, Scrabble, Petanque, cards and jigsaws etc.) for you to enjoy.

The dining area has a quality table and seating for up to six people and, although there is also a child’s booster seat, a high chair can be provided if required.

The good-sized kitchen is well equipped with quality washing machine, fridge, microwave, electric in-built oven, gas hob, coffee maker and kettle. It has a wide range of cooking utensils, with cutlery and crockery for eight people. The kitchen overlooks both the garden (good for overseeing young children) and the grape vine-covered pergola.

The double-glazed conservatory provides seating and relaxing space and looks out to the pergola and garden.

Outside, the patio provides both sun and shade with a suntrap area and a shady grapevine-covered pergola. We have provided a bench in the south facing, lockable garden and there is also a barbecue, large parasol, sun loungers and garden furniture.

The forest area is excellent for walking and cycling so we have provided local maps and itineraries, which are available for your use, and cycles can be hired locally. As we are within two minutes of nationally renowned fishing lakes and one of the finest inland swimming beaches in the area,there is a small amount of fishing tackle and a swimming float for your use.

Situated between the medieval market town of Chateaubriant and the vibrant city of Nantes, the cottage is close to recommended bars and restaurants serving local beef, cheeses and cider from Brittany and Normandy, seafood from the sandy Atlantic coast and regional wines and fruit from the Loire valley.

Recently professionally renovated to offer quality accommodation, Ca'mira offers a haven for gastronomes, nature lovers and star gazers.

Rental Policy

A �150 cash "good housekeeping" deposit (payable on arrival) will be required from guests against damage and cleaning. Provided the house is left in a clean and satisfactory condition this will be refunded in full, within 1 week of departure. For more information www.frenchruralretreat.com

Arrival Times

Change over-day is Saturday, arrivals from 4 pm(although if you're travelling with children, we'll do our utmost to make this earlier) and departures by 10 am. Please contact us for details of shorter or longer breaks.

Additional Rate and Deposit Information

Confirmation of your booking will be sent to you by e-mail or by post within 2 weeks of receiving your deposit. The balance in full must be received 6 weeks prior to your holiday date although we are happy to accept late bookings, and week-end breaks can also be arranged.

Good quality bed linen is supplied.
