You have discovered the hideaway.... nestling 1000m up in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada, this superb fully restored Cortijo is surrounded by its own 28 acre plot of Alpujarran Countryside, including fruit and olive groves where you can enjoy the simpler pace of life still enjoyed in this beautiful region of Andalucia.

Start the day with breakfast including, when in season, freshly picked fruit from our surrounding orchards and let the serenity of the location work its magic on you.

EATING OUT...

is the way of life here. You are spoilt for choice in this region - with the local "Cuatro Vientos" Bodega serving everything from local snails and of course, wonderful Jamon Serrano through to complete mixed grills of locally reared meats that you can wash down with remarkably good "Vino de la tierra" (lit. wine from the land) you really don't need to go far from Ranchito to eat extremely well.

But then you would miss the great Paellas on offer down on the Costa Tropical, just a short drive away. This is the coast the Spanish holiday at, and the variety and quality of food on offer reflects the passion they have for good food...try the "chirringuitos" (Barbeque shacks) on the promenade at La Rabita to experience Spanish al fresco dining as it should be...

If you get the chance - try the Parrillada (fish mixed grill) at the Pension in Isleta del Moro, down by Cabo de Gata. Sitting on the dockside, right next to the ocean as the lights twinkle across the bay, the spot is hard to beat....when the food arrives, make that nigh on impossible.

Rental Policies

This is a non smoking house, but we welcome smokers outside on the pool patio.

Arrival Times

Flexible, but checkout is at 11 a.m. and cleaning takes around 5 hours, so if you arrive earlier than 4p.m., we'll welcome you, of course, but you may need to dodge around our team...!

GBP 750.00 to GBP 1,500.00 per week

Additional Rate and Deposit Information

25% Deposit required at least 4 weeks before rental date - full amount due if booking made within 4 weeks.
£200 refundable security deposit also required with booking.
