Monarch is located in the historic mining town of Garfield, Colorado, also known as Monarch. This sleepy little town is nestled in the mountains at about 9,500 ft. elevation in the middle of San Isabel National Forest. Mountain peaks surround the town with majestic views.
A very small town that consist of thirty vacation homes or cabin rentals, there are no stores. There are only five year round residents. Monarch's location in the heart of Colorado really makes it fun and easy for travelers to tour Colorado. You can tour Colorado by going north, south, east or west within a day.
There is so much to do in the area: Monarch Ski and Snowboard Area only four miles, whitewater rafting on the famous Arkansas River. This is a very family friendly area and a wonderful place to plan your vacation, retreat or reunion.
