Copper Mountain is one of the premier mountain resorts in all of Colorado. This alpine getaway is nestled in the heart of the Rocky Mountains and just about an hour and a half away from Denver. During the summer months, Copper is the perfect place for hiking, bicycling, horseback riding and fly-fishing. When the winter comes, Copper Mountain shows its true spirit. Dozens of ski and snowboard trails line the mountain. Activities include tubing runs, sleigh rides, and ice skating.
With 2,433 acres of skiable terrain, Copper is the biggest and least crowded resort area in Summit County, Colorado.
Despite being the biggest, it has the least amount of lodging units available which is the main reason for Copper's uncrowded lifts and runs. With its naturally divided ski terrain that separates skiers by ability across the mountain, Copper has been called "the most nearly perfect ski mountain in the U.S." by the U.S. Forest Service.
It’s also known as the Local’s Favorite.
