With so many Maui condos for you to choose from, this is our opportunity to tell you what we think sets ours apart from the others. Maybe our 1,050 sq. t, Direct Beachfront, Ground Floor, Corner Condo could be what you're looking for.
There aren't many condos right on the beach, where you can swim or snorkel in front. You won’t find many where you can sit on a double sized lanai and see Humpback Whales leap from the water each winter out in Maalaea Bay.
When you walk in and see the view of the ocean from the living room, you will be delighted. When you go outside to the lanai, the spectacular 180-degree views of Maui's entire south coast will take your breath away. Each morning, you can watch the sun come up over Haleakala. It is truly, an indescribable experience.
We are located at the Kanai A Nalu. It is one of only three complexes in Maalaea that is right on the beach. The other seven properties are on a rocky reef. Many have coin $$ operated laundry rooms (sit and wait). Two are right next to the busy Maalaea Harbor, with its traffic, boat engine noise and fumes. Many do not have Air conditioning and some have distant parking lots, forcing you to carry your bags a long ways.
The Kanai A Nalu has been rated as the best vacation property in Maalaea. Being directly on four miles of sandy beach, it is located on a quiet, cul-de-sac with almost no traffic. Free parking is just steps away. Being a convenient, ground floor unit, there are no stairs or elevators to deal with. We have our own in-unit washer and dryer and “remote controlled” air conditioning. There are beautiful tropical grounds, lush green lawns, 4 BBQ's, a pool-side eating area, comfortable chaise lounges, a lovely natural looking, free-form pool (one of the few heated in winter), and a beachside shower so you can rinse off after your swim.
Beyond our complex, the beach runs parallel to a government protected wildlife refuge. Endangered Hawksbill turtles come ashore to lay their eggs here. No development or building is allowed anywhere along this coast. It becomes Sugar Beach and runs for almost four miles, all the way to Kihei. Take a morning walk and you may not run into another person. When the tide goes out, explore the tide pools. This is absolutely the most un-crowded beach on Maui. It's like your own private paradise. If you want crowds, you'll need to go to Lahaina, Kihei or Wailea.
Being a Corner unit is nothing like the "interior" units that share two common walls. They can be dark inside, and only one window in their master. Their second bedroom's window opens to a busy walkway or parking lot allowing strangers to look in.
Our Corner Condo has NO NEIGHBORS ON ONE SIDE. It is quieter, more private and has incredible views of the beach from the front corner, master bedroom's wall-to-wall windows in both outside walls. Our second bedroom has views of the ocean, the lush tropical grounds, and the pool. Many condos have upstairs "loft" bedrooms that open to the space below, or masters that open to the living room, and only have a flimsy folding wall to close them off. These offer no privacy and no isolation from the noise of the other guests.
Our bedrooms are “traditional” full size rooms with solid walls and locking doors. In the master is a newer $2600 "Sleep Numbers" adjustable king bed with dual remotes. Each side can be individually set to the desired firmness or softness of each guest. No more “rock hard” mattresses. This guarantees a wonderful nights sleep for both guests. Two twin beds in the second bedroom can be pushed together to create another king bed. Both bedrooms have decorator bedding, beautiful décor, new sheets and pillows, wood blinds, new ceiling fans and Cable TV with either a DVD or VHS player.
This lovely condo has been remodeled and upgraded it. We added air conditioning, plush carpeting, designer bedding, towels, wall mirrors, lovely designer pieces, decorator ceiling fans, TVs, a stereo DVD player, high quality nickel plated hardware and faucets, attractive lamps, soft rugs, dishes, patio furniture, beach chairs, beach towels, children’s games, movies, new upholstery, and wood window blinds.
There is a $2,600.00 "Sleep Numbers" adjustable king bed, free Wireless and DSL internet, a new mattress on the Queen Sleeper sofa, new pillow-top mattresses on the twin beds, two convenient wall-mounted hair dryers, and a lovely portable crib.
In 2008, in the kitchen we added beautiful new countertops, a new electric stove top, new toaster oven, new dishtowels and accessories and a custom, bamboo bar front. In the bathrooms we added new ceiling fans, new rugs, towels, designer molding around the mirrors and new accessories. In the bedrooms we added new ceiling fans (the condo has six), a luxurious king comforter and 300 ct. sheets, a safe for your valuables, new thick foam toppers and soft mattress pads on the twin beds. We bought all new pillows and sheets. In the living room we added beautiful new plants and designer wall pieces, new paint, and new bedding for the queen sleeper sofa. For the family we bought new games, sand toys, more DVD and VHS movies, 3 boogie boards (4 total), beach towels, mats and beach chairs. The condo is very personal and special to us. We have worked hard to keep it beautiful and updated for our family and our guests.
Due to the previous owner being in a wheelchair, he was allowed to alter the condo. The doorways and master shower are wider than normal. Also, the lanai is twice the size of the others. He was given permission to enlarge it to accommodate his wheelchair, plus have room for tables and chairs. It extends beyond the normal lanais, increasing our views even further. It has two tables and six chairs instead of the normal four. With a larger group, everyone can be together. The condo is wheelchair accessible, and handi-cap parking is just a few feet from the door.
You have a view of the ocean from the full size kitchen. It has everything, including new counter tops, full size stove with a new cook top, side-by-side fridge with an icemaker, a dishwasher, microwave, toaster, toaster oven, blenders, coffee maker, cookware, utensils, silverware, dishes, detergent, an iron and ironing board, paper towels, dishtowels and a washer and dryer.
Also redecorated, the master bath has an over sized (wheelchair accessible), tiled shower with both a wall mounted and a hand held showerhead. The other bathroom has a full size tub, sliding doors and a shower above. They are accented with lovely nickel plated faucets, seashell themed art, plush decorator towels, rugs, and new paint. Each has a wall-mounted "hotel quality" hair dryer.

LOCAL ATTRACTIONS:
About 1/4 mile away (almost within walking distance) is an area called the "Maalaea Village". There you will find six great restaurants from casual to 4-Star, and most have ocean or harbor views. The charming "Harbor Shops" shopping complex features Hula's "fresh made" Cookies & Ice Cream, Master's Art gallery, Maui Surf, Hawaiian Trading Company, Juice Stop, Island Soaps & Candles, Grass Shack Gifts, Moonbow Tropics, Maui's T-Shirts ($4.99 & Up), Aloha wear, The Coffee Shop, Hand Crafted Jewelry, and the Pacific Whale Foundation.
There is also the Maalaea Harbor (one of Maui's main harbors) where boats leave on snorkeling, dinner and sunset cruises. During winter they leave on hourly "Whale Watching" trips out in Maalaea Bay. Next to the Harbor is the renowned Maui Ocean Center, a world-class Hawaiian aquarium with a clear glass, walk through "under water tunnel" allowing you to view sharks, manta rays and beautiful tropical fish without getting wet.
At the entrance to Maalaea is Carl's Jr. (for a fast meal), a 76 gas station, the Maui Golf and Sports Park for guests of all ages. It features two fun and challenging miniature golf courses, a natural 4,000 sq. ft. lagoon with water falls, bumper boats, water blaster guns, rock climbing and an X-Treme Trampoline. We also have the Trade-Winds Mini Mart & Deli. They have freshly made deli sandwiches and groceries, plus they rent movies and snorkeling gear.
The drive from the Kahului airport is only 12 minutes on a modern four-lane highway.
