Tubac is a very friendly town where many people from all over the world come to experience its history and arts. Tubac is an active artist colony in Southern Arizona. The summer temperature is cooler than Tucson because of Tubac's high altitude.
Our house was built in 2006 and is very comfortably furnished. There is a full kitchen and both a breakfast nook and a dining room, a gas fireplace, a nicely landscaped backyard, satellite TV & internet, a 2-car garage, washer & dryer, and very convenient access to the community pool and spa (literally steps away). Our house is just a few minutes' drive from historic Tubac, the Presidio, and the old Tumacacori Mission.
Tubac is a unique artist colony town 45 minutes south of Tucson, AZ. Nogales, Mexico is about a half hour south of Tubac. The region is known for an outdoorsy lifestyle (golfing, hiking, horseback riding, birding), for the nearby wineries, and for beautiful starlit nights. (The Smithsonian-operated Whipple Observatory is just to the east of us, and there are guided tours.) Tucson offers an active and sophisticated cultural scene and many very fine restaurants. Nogales, of course, has great Mexican food, including seafood, and a great selection of crafts and furniture from local artisans at very reasonable prices. Iron, tin, wood and ceramics are well-known Mexican specialties.
