Friendship/Waldoboro

Posted by Suzanne Thompson on Wednesday, January 28, 2009
Both Friendship and Waldoboro are known for their ship building. Friendship is home to the Friendship sloop,a distinctive and graceful sailboat, and still carries out a yearly race with food and festivals. Waldoboro is home to the famous Five Masted Schooners that were bilt in the town and sailed out to sea through the Medomack River. History is alive in both of these quintessential mid-coast towns on the "forgotten" pennisular with museums, festivals, the playhouse, a working harbor and town pier, and many other interesting and original sites.
