Syros (pronounced Seeros) island is in the middle of the Cyclades group of islands in the Southern Aegean. It is easily accessible by ferry or plane. It takes two and half to four hours to get to Syros by ferry from Piraeus, depending on speed.

Property Details

Syros is in an ideal position for island hopping. Mykonos is less than an hour away. Naxos, Delos, Paros, Tinos are also very close. During the summer months ferry connections are frequent and it is possible to do a return trip to the other close islands within one day. There are also ferry connections to Rhodes, Crete, Santorini, the north eastern Aegean islands and to Turkey via Samos .

Its coastline is abundant with beautiful beaches, cafes, tavernas and scenic walks. There is no mass tourism on the island and it has a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere. It is the capital of the Cyclades so it has a number of facilities close by such as a very good hospital. Ermoupolis, the capital is full of interesting neoclassical buildings and quaint marble paved narrow streets. Platia Miaouli (the main square) is where one finds the biggest example of a neoclassical building which houses the regional council. The Apollon theatre further back from the square is a small version of the Scala theatre at Milano.

Our holiday home is near a little bay called Ahlathi, which is close to Vari. It is built on the side of a hill with pleasant views. Ahlathi beach, which we love, is only a 3-4 minute walk away. There is a great little taverna right by the water, which is open in the summer months. Vari beach, which is bigger and has cafes and a number of tavernas is around a 15 minute walk away from the house. Ermoupolis is 15-20 minutes away on the bus. The bus stop is at the bottom of our driveway. It takes around three minutes to walk to the bus stop. The bus can also take you to most of the popular beaches.

The home is newly built in the traditional blue and white colours. It is part of a “Village” complex built on a hillside, consisting of 12 units. The majority of the units are owned by Athenians who are mostly there in August.
It has two bedrooms and a spacious open plan sitting / dining room. The master bedroom has a double bed and the other bedroom has four comfortable bunk beds, ideal for children or adults. There is one full bathroom including toilet and another separate toilet, and a modern fully equipped kitchen. There are two air conditioning / heating units, one in the sitting room and one in the main bedroom. There is also a 40 square metre verandah with a small garden in front of it, overlooking the beach and open sea (behind the low hills)

Upon arrival, you will be met by our managers who will transport you to the house, free of charge. They will also be a phone call away in case help or advice is needed.

Rental Policy

In order to confirm a booking, a 20% deposit is required. Balance to be paid prior to occupancy.

Refund Policy:

If booking is cancelled two months prior to booked dates, deposit will be refunded in full.

If booking is cancelled within two months prior to booked dates, deposit will be refunded only if another confirmed booking is obtained.

Arrival Times

If arrival occurs between 9.30am - 9.30 pm we offer free pickup by our managers.

Additional Rate and Deposit Information

These rates apply for two persons per day. Additional 5E per day for each extra person. Maximum number of persons is four.
For stays of less than a week a 20E cleaning charge will apply.
For stays of more than 10 days a 10% discount applies.
